Lacrosse is a contact, team sport played by both men and women.

Lacrosse has developed and modernised since its conception, where the sport was played by the indigenous people of North America.

Lacrosse now has many variations of game-play but all involve the use of a lacrosse stick and ball.

Lacrosse was an olympic sport in 1904 and it was recently announced that the sport will return to the olympics for LA28.

Sixes Lacrosse is the newly approved 6v6 Olympic Lacrosse Format which has seen an increase in interest and engagement over the past few years.

The field is smaller and the game is shorter but the pace is fast. The game is designed to be exciting and entertaining with less players on the field at any one time than it's 'traditional' counterpart.

The Queensland Lacrosse League's Sixes Lacrosse Season commences mid-year and plays through to the end of the calendar year. This schedule aligns with Lacrosse Australia's Annual Major League Sixes Tournament and the East Coast Cup Tournament.

The Brisbane Eagles Indoor Lacrosse League provides a safe and enjoyable environment for players of all ages and abilities to play a social, non-contact game format.

Our Indoor lacrosse program runs in blocks throughout the year which roughly align with school terms.

Indoor lacrosse showcases the finesse and technique of the sport of lacrosse without the need for high-speed plays or risk of contact.

Indoor lacrosse provides an entry point for new players and juniors to improve their skills, and seniors to extend their playing involvement.

Field lacrosse is the 'traditional' form of lacrosse that has been played competitively for decades in North America.

Field lacrosse is played in a 10v10 format which can be easy to adopt for anyone who has played rugby, hockey, soccer, basketball, etc.

The Queensland Lacrosse League's Field Lacrosse Season commences early in the calendar year and continues until mid-year. This schedule allows our players to compete locally in a Field Lacrosse format before leading straight into the Lacrosse Australia National Men's and Women's Field Lacrosse Competition.

Brisbane Eagles players have formed a large portion of the Queensland Representative team at these events.

Box Lacrosse is an indoor format of the sport played as 6v6. With the box court similar in shape and size to that of an astro-turfed ice hockey rink, Box lacrosse is a high-contact, high-impact sport which rivals the excitement and energy of high-speed ice hockey.

Box lacrosse is relatively new in Australia and as such the facilities are still developing. The Queensland Lacrosse League hosts a short season of Box lacrosse over the End of Year break which then culminates and aligns with Lacrosse Australia's National Senior Men's and Women's Box Lacrosse Competition.
